MS-P signal device-... For overfill prevention
Application
MS-P signal devices are designed for sound and light signal emission, executive mechanisms control simultaneously operating with level sensors with W5DNC output.
Signal devices are used in oil and gas stations for tank overfill prevention, as well as for double wall tanks (with expansion chamber) interstitial tightness control and control of minimal fuel level in tanks.
Design, principle of operation
MS-P signal devices consist of indication device and junction box (pic. 1), executed in plastic housings with rubber sealings for water and dust protection. Connected sensors quantity - up to six. Indication unit has a built-in piezo alarm. Junction box has an output to VS-3-12V signal unit and semistor outputs for control of executive mechanisms, designed for 220V, 50 Hz.
When first, second and third control levels are reached, light and sound signals are activated (see section “Level sensors with W5DNC output”) Light signal emission is executed via built-in LEDs. Light signal emission is executed: - in control rood of oil and gas station - via piezo alarm, - on the territory of oil and gas station - via VS-3-12V signal unit, that also emits the light signal as well.
Semistor output operation algorithm: in MS-P…1 signal devices - when second control level is reached one common semistor output (1I) is switched off, thusa, breaking the circuit of executive mechanism for several seconds, allowing to execute its repeat powering on (by means of latching relay , buttons“Start/Stop”). When third control level is reached (emergency) the semistor output is being repeatedly switched off, blocking executive mechanism powering on. MS-P…1I signal devices are used with common executive tank infill mechanism, e.g. Pump. In MS-P…I signal devices have separate semistor control output (…I), and executive mechanisms interlock is executed on second and third control levels. MS-P…I signal devices are used with separate executive mechanism for each tank, e.g. solenoid valve.
Control buttons functions:
- alarm switch off (till the next activation) – by short (<1с) pressing
- alarm operation check and switching off executive mechanism relay - by holding the button within more than one second all LEDs start glowing, the sound signal is head and semistor outputs are shotrly switched off
- for distant interlocking of executive mechanisms – by holding the button within more than 4 seconds, semistor outputs are switched off. Unlocking is executed by following button pressing
To increase the reliability the system has: 1. Elements doubling: - additional («emergency») level sensor float; - additional level light indicator(emergency); - two sound alarms (piezo alarms and siren); 2. System self-operation check: when the signal from sensor is lost the executive mechanisms are being switched off and alarm is being activated. (emergency); 3. When electric connections of powering and signal cable are lost, or when the current voltage is lost, the executive mechanisms are being swithced off.
